personal and community asset at the 4th Annual Conference on Centering
Healthcare, Washington, DC.
August 19-20, 2013 Sandra Smith presented at the Montana State Early Childhood Council's first Family Support Summit.
May 1-4 Sandra Smith was in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for an invitational
international workshop that aimed to form a "knowledge hub" re health
literacy measurement, and to come to consensus on a measure of health
literacy to assess chronic disease self-management.
Building Children's Nursing for Africa

Sandra Smith was the keynote speaker. A big question for this conference was-What is the role of mothers in
their children's recovery? What is their role in the hospital? Sandra was
asked to address empowering mothers for health.

health literacy research.

Sandra Smith lead the Parents As
Teachers Health Literacy Demonstration Project’s closing reflection
conference. Participating parent educators, funder, PAT-National
leadership, and the research team will review and interpret the data, discuss
successes, challenges and lessons learned, and recommend next steps for
integrating health literacy promotion into parent educators’ practice.
